We believe that most physical and mental diseases find their root cause in our diet (Anna) or are psychosomatic (Mann) in nature. Traditional organic farming provides us clean, safe food; Additionally, when organic produce is cooked in copper utensils, earthenware using ancient macrobiotic techniques the result is tasty, nutritious food that gives us sound physical and mental Health.
GUNA encourages a holistic lifestyle by conducting macrobiotic food workshops and working with farmer producer organisations that include over 650 rural farmers from Ladakh to promote eco positive eating by marketing handmade organic products ( organic dried fruits , coldpressed oils , handmade almond face and body scrub, seabuckthorn squashes etc).
Under the GEF UNDP small grants program , we recently introduced Solar technology in Eco-Model village Takmachik which includes portable and low cost solar dryers for hygienic and efficient post harvest management of organic produce.
